Finally a Plan!

This morning was my long awaited doctor appointment. This Dr is another with a special interest in fertility, so I was hopeful that I would be able to leave with at LEAST a plan.

The appointment was nearly twenty five minutes late, which was just great as I’ve started to expect nothing less from my Dr surgery. Eventually I was called and I walked in. As soon as my backside touched the seat the Dr blurted out “are you pregnant?” And I said “erm… No.” And she was like “oh. The system says you are. Have you had a miscarriage?” Needless to say by this point I was already ready to walk out of the door and go and hide under a rock. It turned out that the Dr who I had seen when i miscarried did not bother to update the system to say that I was no longer pregnant. So, through the last FOUR Dr visits, the system has been telling the doctors that I am pregnant and nobody thought to mention it to me. Anyway, so she said she would get that removed.

Then we moved on to bloods results, of which there were none. She phoned the lab. They had no record that those bloods had even been taken so, that’s right, my progesterone bloods had gone missing too. Not going great when the first set wasn’t done correctly as the form wasn’t filled in right by the doctor, so I ended up with a thyroid test and not a progesterone test.

Thankfully she listened to everything I had to say. She listened to the frustrations that Amy and I are having and took action. She’s the only GP I have seen about all of this that actually listened to what I had to say and for that I am grateful.

So, from next cycle I am starting on 50mg Clomid days 2-6. She did start telling me horror stories about Ovarian Hyper Stimulation Syndrome but didn’t tell me what to look out for in terms of symptoms of that, but luckily as a knowledgable TTC’er I already know what to look out for with regards to that.

Roll on next cycle. It feels good to finally have a plan.

    That sounds like good news!

Cant believe how useless that surgery is, not only losing stuff but not updating the system! Jesus!

Hopefully this is the beginning of something wonderful. Am looking forward to updates!!

At some point they need to learn that time with patients, listening and providing helpful answers, plus accuracy in test results are what make patients happy.

I’m glad you have a plan. 🙂 A little surprised that she talked about OHSS with clomid, as I understand it that’s basically unheard of. Especially at the dose that you’re on. I wouldn’t worry about it at all.

  7. DeCaf says:

In some cases Clomid corrects luteal phase defects (short lutral phase) I think.

    • Yeah that’s sort of what she said. She said as we don’t know if I’m ovulating properly at the moment, its better to address it if needed once I’ve done two clomid cycles as a strong ovulation may sort out the short LP

  8. Its about time!!! Im glad this dr was willing to listen! Hopefully you will continue to be heard and clomid will work out for you…
